So what exactly is the GameStop Playd and Trade Program?
Well we’re so glad you asked. It is quite simply the best program of its kind in Canada.
With our trade program you can, and should, trade in your used games, accessories and consoles for in-store credit or for a pre-paid Visa or Mastercard gift cards that can be used anywhere.
What does this mean for me?
You can play a game, a console or an accessory to its fullest, as many times as you want and when you are done with it bring it back to GameStop and we will give you store credit for it so you can buy a shiny new item you’re dying to have.
And the best part is, it will go through our refurbishment process and be brought back to life and made available for one of your fellow gamers to buy as a Playd title or hardware. This way they can experience a game you loved. Its amazing for newer hardware and titles that become available to try at a discount and it also gives people an opportunity to try older titles or hardware they may not be able to find anywhere else.
What can I trade in at GameStop?
We accept trades on select games, accessories, consoles and handheld hardware for the following gaming platforms: PlayStation 4, XBOX One, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X & Nintendo Switch.
Ok so I’m sold, What needs to be included with my trade?
Software games must include original cases, artwork, and instructions in order to be eligible for our trade promotions.
Hardware/Accessories devices require applicable cables, power adaptors and one controller per console.
What happens to my item after I trade it in ?
A hardware item that is traded in at a GameStop store location will start its journey to becoming a Playd item by first making its way to our Reclamations Centre where our amazing team will put it thorough a refurbishment process which includes testing, QA, repairs (if needed) and cleaning.
All products must pass through our Quality Assurance process before being made available at one of our stores where it goes back to the sales floor to be purchased as a Playd item.
