How many packs of cards can I buy at a time? Is there a limit?
The newest set of cards for any trading card line that we carry, whether it’s Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, or anything in between, will always be restricted to a maximum of three individual booster packs per person per day.
Larger sets that contain multiple packs of cards, such as Pokémon Elite Trainer Boxes and Collections (including Ultra Premium Collections and tins), Magic: The Gathering Bundles and Boxes, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Tins and Boxes, will be restricted to one per person regardless of when the set was released.
Older sets of individually-sold booster packs will often have their limits relaxed, and you may be able to purchase more than the standard three-per-customer, at the store’s discretion.
Online through the GameStop.ca website, the maximum number of any product that can be purchased or pre-ordered is always a maximum of three per person, unless otherwise specified to be less. Any duplicate orders will be cancelled.
Does this limit apply to pre-orders? What if I want more than three booster packs for a new launch? Can I pre-order more than three?
Unfortunately, these limits do also apply to pre-orders.
If your pre-orders exceed the limits outlined above, any duplicate orders will be cancelled.
If you pre-order online for in-store pick-up, the store will still need to abide by these limits when the product is released. Any additional pre-orders units will be cancelled by the store and any deposits will be refunded when you collect your pre-orders.
If you pre-order directly in-store, the staff will only be able to pre-order up to the limit.
What if I'm unsure about a trading card purchase?
Trading card purchases are final sale. If you are unsure about a purchase take the time to speak to one of our awesome associates in store or online and we will make sure you pick the right pack or set. But once your purchase is complete trading cards cannot be returned.
